Компания Bosch приступила к тестам нового поколения систем безопасности автомобилей. Информацию об аварийной ситуации такие системы получают не только с различных датчиков, но и со специальных видеокамер. Такая электроника реагирует на опасность на несколько миллисекунд раньше обычных систем, и этого в некоторых случаях достаточно для спасения жизней водителя и пассажиров.
Для максимальной эффективности камеры будут устанавливать в паре с радарами, которые также способны обнаруживать препятствия на пути автомобиля. Если система, получает сигнал о том, что столкновение неизбежно, то механизмы защиты включаются еще до того, как само столкновение произойдет.
Для проверки новых систем не стали организовывать краш-тесты. Bosch устанавливает камеры и радары на серийные машины, которые в ходе испытаний сталкиваются с надувными препятствиями.
Большая часть работ по созданию таких систем безопасности уже завершена, и ожидается, что они будут доступны уже в 2009 году.
